Tangerine Bandit is more than a performer; he is a rhythmic architect. With over two decades behind the kit his style is defined by an uncompromising dedication to the pocket and high-intensity physical performance. Whether delivering tasteful session tracks or commanding a festival stage, his philosophy remains fixed: every beat demands precision, every groove is weighted, and every performance is a masterclass in skill acquisition. Notable influences to Tange's drumming include Ringo Starr, Chad Smith, John Bonham, Ginger Baker, George Daniels, Ash Soan & Two. Creative linear fills, solid pocket playing and tasteful part selection are his hallmarks.
Tange started drumming at aged 9 and has blossomed into a bassist, guitarist, producer and DJ. His early teen years were spent studying John Bonham, Ginger Baker and playing in school bands , the first of which named Stairlift To Heaven. While at University in Liverpool he played drums for the band funk band L.A. Walkway, post University in the project Plexus along with long time school friend Nickon Faith. He played drums for the band 'Valentyne' (2022-2026) currently plays bass in the freedom band 'The Light'.
His live bass and guitar DJ sets have turned heads all over the North West and his carefully curated playlists never fail to fill the dance floor.
Tange's debut EP 'Beats & Feels' was released in summer 2024 and has since followed it up with 2 singles of '3-6-9' and 'Kneedeep'. His influences to production and creation include Tom Misch, FKJ, RHCP & Disclosure.
He thrives on collaborations and its currently finishing an EP with Blackpool based duo Hot Sake, several songs with the rapper Lukas Lion & fellow multi-instrumentalist Aureate Flare.

Our band, Brother Rabbit, needed a drummer for a private booking because our regular drummer was unavailable. We contacted Rob, sent over the set list, and arranged a rehearsal the week before. At the rehearsal, he arrived fully prepared and locked in straight away. The booking itself went brilliantly. Rob was punctual, professional, adaptable, and an absolute pleasure to work with.
Really enjoyed the sets I've played with Rob on drums. He can always get a groove going and adapts easily to any genre given to him. Even when we've performed with little to no rehearsal time, Rob has delivered.
We hired Rob for a complex set ranging from indie rock to electronic garage style beats, and he delivered flawlessly. Not only did he arrive with every track fully prepared, but he also went above and beyond by helping us optimise our backing tracks and clicks.
